Memory Lane

Down this memory lane
I have walk
Days and years
Gone by in a flash

Love fades like a flower
And my tears well up a river
When joy is no more
Sorrow overtakes

As I turn and look back
Pitches of darkness falls everywhere
But occasionally
There is a lamp post guiding me

Each time I fall
I grieve the unbearable pain
But surely we have to walk on
No matter how painful it is

Down this path
I have learn to shield myself
For fears of hurt and rejection
But life continues on

Time have ages
And I have grown
True love seems to live
Only in fairytales

The cupid had forgotten me
Just as well
In this world of decit
True love is rare

My heart grew faint from waiting
But I struggle on
Only with a silent plead
That my heart will not break this time
